Trani. Romanesque Cathedral.

From the High Murgia to the Serre of the Salento, Apulia is a gently sloping limestone plateau, that at Santa Maria di Leuca land's end plunges in the Ionian sea waters.  In this trip we travel downhill, across changing landscapes, with different wines and food of course: the barren, windy hills of Castel del Monte and Matera, the green richer and cooler central Murgia, the endless vineyards and olive grooves of Salento.

• Matera, and its canyon. Aglianico, Gravina, Moscato wines.
• Ostuni, Alberobello. Primitivo di Gioia del Colle, Locorotondo wines.
• Taranto, Manduria area. Primitivo di Manduria wine.
• Salento, Brindisi. Salice Salentino wine

• Salento, Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli. Negroamaro black and rosé, Alezio wines.
